Is HCS accredited?
Yes. We have been accredited by the North Carolina Christian School Association, the state affiliate of the American Association of Christian Schools.
What is the student/teacher ratio for each class?
The ratios differ from grade to grade but the average ratio is 16:1.
How are parents made aware of their students' grades and academic progress?
Report cards are issued for each grade (K5 - 12th Grade) at the end of each 9 week period. In the elementary classes, the teachers send home weekly test folders with the students' graded tests. JH and HS students are issued tri-weekly grade reports every 3 weeks. Parents may also view Headmaster Online to see their students' grades.
Are your students required to wear uniforms?
We do not require uniforms, but we have a dress code for all students. The Parent/Student Handbook details those requirements.
Do the majority of your students attend college?
Yes, our high school curriculum follows a college preparatory program. Sixty-nine percent of our graduates attend a four year college. Twenty-two percent attend a two year college.
